Chapter Four: Leafpaw

Leafpaw was laying down moss in the nursery, inpatient. "How long are we going to do this, Smoketalon?" She asked. "Well do it until you stop complaining!" he growled.

Leafpaw shrunk back from her mentor's gaze, feeling ashamed. "Sorry." she mumbled through clenched teeth. Suddenly, she heard a yowl. "Rouges are attacking! Rouges are going to attack!" She soon realized it was Riverpaw.

Sweetberry, the deputy, come up on the darkstone, and adressed the clan, who were already sitting below, fearful yowls ripping through the air. "Listen!" Sweetberry meowed. "Riverpaw, how did you find out about this? Are you sure your not mistaken?" Riverpaw padded up vervously to the front of the crowd. "Y-yeah I er- saw them coming this way, sayign that they need to make sure no one saw them so they could attack.

She heard Hawkpaw hiss at that. Was it a lie? Howls of terror ripped through the air, and then it made her feel the same terror and fear. She felt the urge to protect the kits as much as a queen, and the worries of an apprentice from a mentor. It was so much, she couldn't take it anymore.

"Stop!" She yowled across the clearing. All eyes turned on Leafpaw as she sung those words clearly. "Look, everyone, it's okay, these are a bunch of rouges. We are a large clan of well trained cats! We could beat them! Let's not fear! Let's make them wish they never set a paw on our land!" Instantly, cheering went up out of all the cats, and Leafpaw felt the mood lighten. She sighed.

Then Hawkpaw came out of the bushes, followed by Riverpaw and Bumblepaw. Hawkpaw looked really mad. "Look, we need to talk." he hissed. And with that, they rushed out of the crowd

Chapter Three: Riverpaw

Riverpaw Just found some Borage, and started digging on it to pull up the roots.

"Very good, now what do we use Borage roots for?" Firestream asked, observing him. Riverpaw knew this, it was easy. "For helping queens' milk come. The leaves are used to cool down fever." he meowed with confidence. Firestream gazed at him with a look of pride. "Very good, Riverpaw." Deciding to test me, he pointed his tail to another plant. "Okay, then what's that?"

Firestream again gazed at him, but this time with a look of curiousity. "Goldenrod." he mewed. Then he pointed to a patch of dry, soft looking plants that had the smell of fresh grass wafting from it. "Parsley, used to stop milk coming when a queen'skits have died." he whispered. Then he grew distant.

He saw a flash, and noticed that he wasn't out side of the camp anymore, but inside. In fact, he was right outside the nursery, and there were cats moving around outside, but they semed not to notice him. He tried to walk forward, but it felt like his legs were stuck to the ground. Oh yeah, they were. He was okay with that though. He had seen this before. Riverpaw knew it was a glimpse of the future. then he heard many ats, crashing through the undergrowth, and then they burst into the clearing, and a fight broke out. It was Hawkclan. Then he heard a moaning and groaning. It was Dawnstar, and she was going to have her kits in in a full scale battle.

Riverpaw saw Mousecloud streak out of the den, most likely going to warn Firestream that Dawnstar was having her kits. Then, he saw a dark figure slip into the den, and heard a deep voice. "Well, it's nice to see you again, Dawnstar." Then Dawnstar struggled to make out the words. "No......" she croaked. "Yes sweet revenge, I am going tokill you, and your kits. Right here and right now."

Then with a flash, he was back outside the camp. And he heard Firestream repeatedly calling hs name. "RIVERPAW!" He jumped up, and yelped. But he couldn't explian what had happened in those few heartbeats, which had been a whole battle. Riverpaw pushed past Firestream, and towards the camp. "Where are you going?!" called the medicine cat. "There's not enough time to explain!" he threw the words over his shoulder, but to his suprise, Firestream was following him. ell, he'll need to help with Dawnstar. All he knew was that he had to get back to camp, fast, and lives were depending on it.

Chapter Two: Hawkpaw

"But why us? There's nothing special about us." Hawpaw said, trying to duck down as low as he could into the bramble bush.

"I don't know, mabye we all had a rotten fresh-kill?....No, that couldn't be it" meowed Leafpaw, lost in thought.

"But from now on, we all tell each other when we have dreams, okay?" mewed Hawkpaw, hoping they would. They were his littermates, he could trust them. But there was something about him, almost like he could sence more than just feelings, for he did that all his life. Ever sence he was a kit, he always knew how someone was feelingd, wierd. They squezed out from the bramble bush, and he could hear Mosstalon, his mentor calling out to him.

"Let's go to the training clearing."

Mosstalon whisked away, and Hawkpaw followed. When we got there, the clearing was empty, and sunlight glinted onto the hard packed earth, making it glow. Mosstalon stalked to the center, and Hawkpaw could tell that he was feeling impatient, as if he had something better to do. Hawkpaw snorted. It's not like this was a waste of time, this was important, training was always important.

"Let's learn about some more defensive moves. Try and dodge me."

He headed full speed at him, and Hawkpaw found himself tilting over, and tumbling on the ground.

"Try again."

He tried again thinking fast. This time, he put all of his wieght on his toes, and when Mosstalon got to him, he hoped neatly out of his path.

"How was that?" he asked hopefully, and noticed not only that Mosstalon was impressed, but noticing the imprortance of this lesson.

I wish I could've been that good when I was an apprenitce.

"Did you say something?" What was that? There was a vioce inside his head, and he didn't know is it was coming from Mosstalon or someone else. Hawkpaw looked around, but no one else was there.

"No...., c'mon, let's get on with this." He positioned himself again.

But was waz that? He looked, and there was a swirling orange cloud above Mosstalon. but then when he blinked, it was gone.

Chapter One: Bumblepaw

Bumblepaw! Leafpaw! Riverpaw! Hawkpaw!

As they touched noses with their new mentors, Bumblepaw wrigled in excitement. She was finally an apprentice! She could tell her Brothers and sister were excited, too.
"What are we going to do today?" Bumblepaw meowed to Blacknight.

"Today we will explore the territory" Yes! Leafpaw was coming too, Hawkpaw was going to the training hollow, and Riverpaw was going to go learn about Herbs and stuff. He is now the Medicine cat apprentice, but Bumblepaw knew he would be a good one. As she listened to Blacknight ramble on about the Hawkclan boundries, and the stream. She was already thinking about becoming a warrior.

Finally, they got back to camp, and Bumblepaw was tired. So, she went to the apprenitce's den to sleep, finding an empty nest beside Hawkpaw, who was already asleep. He was mewing in his sleep, and Bumblepaw knew he was probably having a dream. Then she sat down next to him, and groomed his fur. Untill her eyelids drooped, and she fell into a deep sleep.

Bumblepaw was in a lush forest, and the smell of plump prey wafted on the breeze.
"Hello?" she mewed, starting to panick.
"Hawkpaw? Leafpaw? Anyone?" Then a large figure stepped out from a nearby bush.
"Hello young one. We are at the forests of Starclan." the shape said.

"Wait... I'm d-d-dead!" On no! She didn't even know what happened!
"No, no, it isn't your time for starclan yet, I am Sunflame, here to guide you. Follow me" she whisked away into the heavy undergrowth. Then Bumblepaw followed her on some invisible path, winding through trees and brambles. Suddenly they came to a clearing, and.... and.... Hawkpaw, Leafpaw, and Riverpaw were there too!
"H-how-" she stammered.

"I have brought you here, to tell you your destiny" meowed a cat that was in the center of the clearing, looking down into a small, shimmering pool.
"'What destiny? What's so special about all us?" called Riverpaw, looking anxouisly at the other cats.

"In the dusk of a new night, the hawk will soar over the leaves on the trees, the river flows swiftly, and they will all listen to the song of the bumblebee's wings"

And at that, Bumblepaw woke up, at the same time as Hawkpaw and Leafpaw, who were also grooming moss out of their pelts.

Prolouge

A black tabby tom padded to the edge of a twisted tree, where a glistening stream flowed passed it.
"The time has come" whispered the tom, his paws shimmering with stars. Another cat, an Orange she-cat, sat by the stream next to him, and dipped her head.
"Greetings, Shadestar" the she-cat said. "And yes, it has been to long in coming." she meowed.  Then Shadestar looked up, his gaze filled with sorrow. "But there's a chance they won't sucseed. They must be put to a test" he said, rising.
A third cat came out of the bushes, his pelt scared by many old battles. He then turned to Sunflame. "It is up to you" he said. "You must lead thier paws in the direction of the prophecy, even though we aren't sure of it's meaning." he growled.
"Yes. I will" she meowed. Sunflame dipped her paw in the stream, and the current morphed and changed into an image. There were four kits tumbling around, mewing.
"If only it could always be this happy. These cats will try thier lives. They were learn that there are vows that are stronger than the warrior code itself." The third cat said.
"In the dusk of a new night, the hawk will soar over the leaves on the trees, the river flows swiftly, and they will all listen to the song of the bumblebee's wings." The third cat muttered, blinking his scarred eye.
Shadestar, who had been silent, stared upp at the darkening sky.
"It's been long coming, Silentsong" Shadestar said the other tom.
